Overview
While rare in prepubertal children, testicular tumors can occur. In adolescents, testicular cancer is more common. Early detection is key to successful treatment.
Symptoms
The most common sign is a painless lump or swelling in the testicle. Any lump should be evaluated by a doctor immediately.
Treatment
Surgery
Removal of the affected testicle (orchidectomy) is the primary treatment.
Chemotherapy/Radiation
Depending on the type and stage of the tumor, additional treatment with chemotherapy or radiation may be needed.
